Porsche Cars North America will serve as the exclusive automobile sponsor of the fourth annual Turner Classic Movies (TCM) Classic Film Festival. Hosted at six of the most historic theater venues in Hollywood, Calif. from April 25 – 28, the 2013 festival celebrates travel in the movies.
“Le Mans is one of the most well-known touchstones of the Porsche brand in cinema and popular culture,” said Detlev von Platen, president and CEO of Porsche Cars North America, Inc. “Our rich motorsport history, coupled with our return to Le Mans in 2014, made this partnership a natural fit.”
On Saturday, April 27, The Chinese 6 Theatres will screen the film, regarded as one of the best racing movies of all time. Prior to the show, Chad McQueen, son of the late Steve McQueen, and former Porsche motorsport drivers Derek Bell and Vic Elford will share stories about the making of the movie with exclusive festival passholders.
